Yesterday night my mom calls me around 7ish and tells me that my dog I've had for 12 years has to be put down. If anyone knows Duke you know he's a big suck and the sweetest dog ever. I cried myself to sleep last night and I have been doing so off and on today.

I always had hoped he would live longer. Now granted 12 years for a black lab is a long time but you always feel that the pet you've had since you were a kid would stay around forever.

The Vet said his kidney's are failing and that he may have cancer as well. Mom and Dad say he's been peeing in the house every night and he whines more and more. It is probably for the best so he won't be in any more pain but it's so hard to let go...
